We have a mobile cinema business that we have built up over 5 years, we have done events across the country and have a long list of happy clients and testimonials: www.skylightcinema.co.uk

We hire out all the equipment people need to put on an outdoor cinema event, this includes a big 8m inflatable screen, PA system and powerful projection.

As we get increasingly busy we are looking to relocate the van to a more central location to reduce travel time (currently based in Cornwall), currently looking at south UK area but could be anywhere Bristol/London etc.

I am looking for one person for next season but I am posting this now as it would make sense for the right person to come and try it out this year at one of our events. If we found the right person there is also work this year.

An average event would involve:

• Drive to the event location, say south London
• Arrive around 6pm and set up the screen and equipment (around 1.5 hours)
• Once set up there is very little to do except start the film when it gets dark and keep an eye on the kit
• After the film shut down and pack up (around half an hour)
• We have accommodation built into van so normally we drive for an hour or two then get some kip.
• Get up early and drive back base
• Normally away for less 24 hours
• If screen is really wet wash and dry before next event (takes around 1 hour)
• Most events are at the weekend so drive up Friday and back Saturday or Sunday

You must be:

• Tech savy: be familiar with electrical equipment, menu options, AV kit
• Projection: Familiar with projection a bonus
• Strong ish: you need to be able to lift speakers, screen etc
• Practical: be good solving problems and thinking things through
• Drive: be happy driving a big van across the UK inc London (under 3.5 tons)

Pay:

This year: Depending on what you do.

Next year: Salary of £15,000 for 2.5 days a week/half time from May - Sept (5 months), or £1,250 a month. This works out at £30,000 pro rata . Happy to pay on PAYE or via invoice if you are self employed.

Conditions: 20% of wages are retained and paid in a balloon at the end of the season providing you don't leave mid season. Full training will be given. Some events will be local to you (within 2 hours) some in Scotland so varying amounts of travel involved. We will cover two weeks holiday in this five month period. The 2.5 days will have to be worked as an average, some weeks there could be 4 events and lots of driving, other weeks none, it works out as a total of 66 days over the 5 month period, or 13 days a month. Extra days paid at a pro rata rate. An additional discretionary bonus of around £1k will also be paid if we get good feedback from clients and you are helpful and flexible.

Guess it would suit a student or someone who works part time, chance to earn a few thousand for the summer and still be free most weekdays.
